This is a no-sew scrap buster for use with faux leather, vinyl, cork, or leather.
The dimensions are H= 3W + 1"
I will be using a sheet of faux leather I have for a smaller version. My preferred dimensions are 14" x 4.5"
You will need:
exterior material cut to dimensions
(2) sets of snaps, buttons, or preferred closure
ruler
rotary blade
TLDR:
- Cut out rectangle
- Cut 30° angle
- Fold 3 flag folds
- Mark and cut excess off
- Install snaps
- Fill with clips
- Flip and enjoy!
My sheet is 11.75" tall so my width will be .... (11.75-1=10.75/3=3.583 )... 3 5/8"
After the rectangle is cut out, use the ruler to measure a 30° cut on one of the short ends. Then fold lengthwise like a flag. Take the long corner and bring it up flush with the opposite side. Repeat 3 times. Mark excess and make another 30° cut. (see photo below)
There will be 4 triangle shapes.
Fold middle triangles so that the points meet. One side will be wrong side up and the other side will be right side up. (see photo below)
Fold the outer triangles over the top and bottom. Mark and install buttons.
Fill with clips and enjoy!
